Welcome to the first ever ADOPTION TALK LINK UP!

This will act a little bit differently then most Link ups as we have a schedule of topics we will follow throughout the year. Feel free to save the below image for reference:

Please join the Adoption Talk link up on the first and third Thursday of every month.

Anyone involved with the adoption triad or foster care in any way is welcome to join (even if you are just starting the process). The first link up topic is hopefully an easy one, we would love for everyone to link up their adoption stories. If you’ve got thoughts to share, we want to hear them.

A few things to consider:

1) Be respectful of others. Adoption can be a sensitive subject, and opinions may differ from your own. Please be respectful to everyone.
2) Try to read and comment on at least one other post. The point of a link up is to mingle and meet other bloggers.
3) Feel free to link an old post. We know you may have already blogged about some of the topics on our schedule. If you would like to link something you have already written that is just fine.
4) We would still love to have an adoptee host. If you know of anyone PLEASE let one of the hosts know.
5) Follow Your Hosts. No need to follow everyone on everything, but make sure you follow in enough places that you’ll be reminded to link up.

My Families Adoption Story:

The truth is that Adoption has always been a part of my journey. Maybe I didn’t know it right away but looking back I can see it has always been there, in my heart. God spent many years molding this desire.

Fast forward to June 2002 when I went on my first date with (my now hubby) Mark.

I told him I never wanted to have children (residual slime left over from a previous relationship and he told me if I married him we WOULD be having kids, so I, in my defiant but truthful self stated right back “well if we ever get married then we are adopting kids” he said “ok!”.

Just like that. HUGE life decision made.

Of course we still had no idea if a second date was in our future, but you know….cart before the horse kinda thing.
